VGSF Graduation Ceremony 2023

On December 21, 2023, the VGSF celebrated the Graduates of 2019-2023 at the 2023 VGSF Graduation Ceremony!

The program kicked off with a welcome speech from VGSF Speaker Josef Zechner, followed by opening remarks by Rector of the WU, Rupert Sausgruber. A special highlight of the evening was the keynote speech of Renée Adams of Saïd Business School, which adressed the gender inequalities within the field of Finance. The ceremony closed with a valedictorian speech from VGSF Graduate Alessandro Melone (Assistant Professor of Finance at The Ohio State University since 2022) and closing remarks by VGSF Program Director Alexander Mürmann.

This year marked the introduction of the VGSF Dissertation Award. VGSF faculty members Otto Randl, Günter Strobl and Leopold Sögner of the selection committee carefully selected Alessandro Melone as the recipient of the award, which was presented by Michael Stadlinger (WM PR) on behalf of Peter Seilern of Seilern Investment Management. Congratulations!

Special thanks to our Master of Ceremony, Kerstin Schlögl, for guiding us through the program and the WU string quartett, who provided the musical accompaniment.
