Gioele Barbano
Gioele, originally from Italy, studied at the University of Bergamo, where he completed his Bachelor’s degree in Economics. Following this, he developed a strong interest in quantitative finance, which has become his primary focus. His Master’s program in Bergamo, along with an Erasmus exchange in Oulu, Finland, further deepened his interest in scientific research. He has held tutoring positions in Calculus and Applied Mathematics for Economics and Finance at the undergraduate level. In his Bachelor’s thesis, he analyzed stochastic dominance to evaluate stock indices, while his Master’s thesis involved developing a multistage stochastic portfolio optimization model with scenarios generated using fractional Brownian motion.
Gioele’s main research interests include portfolio optimization, asset-liability management, and stochastic programming.
In his free time, he enjoys spending time with friends, hiking, and reading.
