Elena Sponga
Elena was born in Feltre, Italy. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Economics, International Trade, and Financial Markets from the University of Trieste and a Master’s degree in Economics from Ca‘ Foscari University of Venice. Her master’s thesis explored the impact of public interventions on bankruptcy dynamics in Italy during the COVID-19 pandemic.
After graduation, she spent a year in the Financial Research division at the European Central Bank, working on a joint project with EIOPA focused on the investment behavior of life insurers. She also applied her skills to support research on interbank network modeling and investment funds. Following her time at the ECB, she worked for over a year as a Research Consultant at the Halle Institute for Economic Research.
In her spare time, Elena enjoys taking long walks and hiking. She has a passion for animated films, along with interests in drawing and literature. In sports, she enjoys kayaking and tennis.
